Staff and patients at Teikyo University in Tokyo, Japan, are benefitting from an upgrade to the latest Zephyr HDR system. Built with Kevlar and Rohacell foam, the system offers greater durability and enhanced patient comfort. Their setup also includes Diacor MR stirrups, allowing patients to remain in lithotomy position between treatment and scanning. By incorporating the Zephyr HDR into their workflow, the team can now perform combined CT and MR imaging for brachytherapy patients.
Physicist Shinobu Kumaga is excited about the impact this equipment has for Teikyo staff and patients. He stated, “We believe that this combination will enable us to offer a new form of brachytherapy that is less burdensome for patients. We are proud to help Teikyo University improve patient-focused cancer treatment and explore new options in brachytherapy.”
Distributor Chiyoda Technol Corporation in Japan facilitated this upgrade in April of this year. Featured below are images showcasing their new Zephyr HDR system.
