Staff and patients are benefitting from an upgrade to the latest Zephyr HDR system at Teikyo University in Tokyo, Japan. The new system is built with Kevlar and Rohacell foam, increasing durability and comfort for patients. Their setup includes Diacor MR stirrups, which enables patients to remain in lithotomy position between treatment and scanning. Incorporating the Zephyr HDR into their workflow enables them to perform combined CT and MR imaging for brachytherapy patients.

 

Physicist Shinobu Kumaga is excited about the impact this equipment has for Teikyo staff and patients. He stated,  “We believe that this combination will enable us to offer a new form of brachytherapy that is less burdensome for patients. We are proud to help Teikyo University improve patient-focused cancer treatment and explore new options in brachytherapy.”
