MR Conditional Stirrups for Clinical use in MR-Guided Brachytherapy
Radiation oncology providers have been steadily adopting MRI for image guidance in gynecological and prostate brachytherapy for increased clinical benefit. Unfortunately, differences in the patient’s position between CT/MR image acquisition could introduce potential radiation delivery errors. MR conditional patient positioning equipment that enables consistent lithotomy positioning from procedure to imaging may help to reduce these risks.
In this webinar, the clinical team from Dana Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center describe the evaluation of a MR conditional hoverboard and stirrups for heating and image quality during 3T MRI. They also share a clinical perspective on the importance of using these tools to enable MR-only brachytherapy treatment planning workflows by allowing applicator or needle adjustments.
